If you meet the eligibility criteria for Overseas Qualifications Unit assessment in Victoria, follow these steps to submit your application.
Lodge your OQU application online
1. Complete the online application form
Please create an account and submit your online application form on the Overseas Qualification Unit Community.
The preferred internet browser for completing the application is Google Chrome.
2. Upload relevant supporting documents
All documents must be in Portable Document Format (PDF). We do not accept other electronic formats such as JPEG, GIF, TIFF, PNG or photos of documents.

3. Assessment
Assessment of your application can take up to six weeks.

How your overseas qualification is assessed
We assess your qualifications based on the Australian Government assessment guidelines – Country Education Profiles. These guidelines cover 127 countries and include:
- assessment guidelines for higher education, post secondary technical and vocational education qualifications and how they compare with Australian Qualifications Framework qualifications
- information on grading systems, language of instruction, academic year, admission requirements, courses and qualification requirements, types of institutions, accreditation and quality assurance.

4. Outcome
The Overseas Qualifications Unit provides highly accurate assessment outcomes. If you would like further explanation of your assessment or to request a review please contact us.
Re-issue requests for Overseas Qualifications Unit assessment outcome
The Overseas Qualifications Unit can re-issue an assessment via email requests to oqu@liveinmelbourne.vic.gov.au
Please include the reason for the re-issue, your full name (as on the award certificate) and the date of the original assessment outcome in your email request.
It takes up to four weeks to re-issue assessments.
