Taner Korpe

Melbourne has become the new headquarters for Taner Korpe’s informatics company that will provide the official results technology for the 2023 Special Olympics World Games in Berlin.

Taner studied computer engineering and worked for some of the largest information technology companies in Turkey. After accumulating 20 years of experience, Taner created his first start up Kronos Enterprises.

The company has successfully expanded internationally from its original location in Ankara Turkey, to include offices in Sydney, Dubai, Berlin, and Melbourne. Across the five branches, Kronos employs nearly 1,000 software engineers and architects.

As the company shifts its focus on their innovative sporting event technology, Taner made the decision to move the company’s headquarters to Melbourne. “Melbourne is the sports capital of the world, so it has a great reputation for sport technology. If I tell a client that I am a Melbourne based company, I think it adds an advantage to our business”.

Taner described how Kronos Enterprises is changing the way sports events are timed, measured and scored with their cloud based blockchain technology, that can work seamlessly with any pre-existing sporting equipment.

“All the sporting event equipment on the market uses their own unique interface. Our software seamlessly integrates with all of these interfaces.”

Kronos Enterprises will be an official partner for the 2023 Special Olympics and Taner hopes that future major sporting events in Melbourne will continue to bring more exciting opportunities.

Taner was granted a 132 Business Talent visa in 2018 and continues to feel supported by the Victorian Government four years on from his nomination. “You feel confident knowing that the Victorian Government is always there if you ever need them”.

“I have been working in Australia for nearly four years, the time has flown by. I can apply for citizenship next year!”
