Skilled Nominated policy

The interim skilled visa nomination program is changing in 2020-21 in response to challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic and will focus on Victoria's economic recovery.

The Graduate and PhD pathways are not a feature of the program.

For more information on the skilled visa nomination program, please visit our 2020-21 Skilled Migration Visa Nomination Program page.

Victoria’s skilled nominated program selects candidates already living and working in Victoria, who are contributing to Victoria’s economic recovery.

For the Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190) only candidates working in a highly skilled occupation in health, medical research or life sciences which support Victoria's economic recovery or health response, who can demonstrate this contribution in their submission will have their Registration of Interest considered for pre-selection for this allocation. This work must be closely related to the nominated occupation.

For the Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491) only candidates working in a highly skilled occupation in health, medical research, life sciences, agri-food or digital sectors which support Victoria's economic recovery or health response, who can demonstrate this contribution in their submission will have their Registration of Interest considered for pre-selection for this allocation. This work must be closely related to the nominated occupation.

We will accept any occupation from the Department of Home Affair’s eligible lists for nomination applications under Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190) (MLTSSL and STSOL) and Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491) (MLTSSL, STSOL and ROL).
